  1. Fantastic, Bella, these are all really well presented slides with lots in info I didn't know about volcanoes. Have ever been to Rangitoto, I think that was the last volcano to erupt in Auckland.

  2. Kia ora Bella, I can see you have been working really hard on your volcanoes research - it looks like you have learnt a lot! I like how you have used a range of photos to show us the different types of volcanoes. Your Parts of a Volcano diagram is clear and well labelled - ka pai! Your creative writing in the third Google Slide is very good. I can see you have thought carefully about which words to use in your writing. I particularly like: "The terrifying sight brought terror to my heart" and "like seeing fireworks dancing in the dusk" - you can be proud of your writing!
Here's an interesting fact I found online at National Geographic Kids: The word “volcano” comes from the Roman name “Vulcan” - he was the Roman god of fire!
Kia pai tō rā. (Have a good day.)

  3. Kia ora Bella. Wow! There is so much learning happening here. Well done on accepting the challenge of using google shapes and lines to draw and label a diagram of a volcano.

Composite volcanoes are also a favourite of mine. Even though they are dangerous, I think that when they explosively erupt, it is visually amazing to watch.

What would you do if a volcano erupted in Auckland?
